Velunite user guide
Here are the steps in order: sign-up, connecting Garmin, clubs and teams, creating a route and a group ride.
1. Sign-up
It takes two minutes. You need an email address you can access.
- Open the sign-up page.
- Fill in first name, last name, email and a password of at least 8 characters.
- Enter your date of birth (minimum age 14), country and place of residence. For Italy, pick province, postcode and city.
- Choose your favourite sport, cycling or running. You can change it later.
- Tick the acceptance of Privacy, Data processing and Terms, then submit the form.
- Open the email from Velunite and click the confirmation link. If it does not arrive, check your spam folder or use “Resend” on the screen.
- Log in with your email and password. If you forget the password, use the reset option on the login page.
2. Connect Garmin
Once connected, your activities reach Velunite on their own, with heart rate, power and cadence.
- Log in and open the Garmin connection page from the integrations in your profile.
- Accept the health data consent notice, if it appears.
- Enter your Garmin Connect email and password. You only do this once.
- If Garmin sends you a verification code, type it in the field that appears.
- When the card shows “Connected”, activities arrive every half hour. You can sync right away, import your history or disconnect, choosing whether to also delete the data already imported.
Do not want to connect Garmin? On the Import page you can upload the files of your rides (FIT or GPX format) from your watch or bike computer: it always works.
Connect Garmin↑ In this guide3. Clubs and teams
There are three tools: clubs to gather enthusiasts, teams with a members area for sports clubs, and a link with QR code to bring sign-ups from your group.
- Club: open the Clubs page and press “Create Club”. Enter name, description and location, and choose whether the club is visible to everyone and whether anyone can join or only people you invite. Then add logo, cover, address, contacts and meeting times.
- In the club you can publish posts and add or remove members. To join someone else’s club, press “Join” on its page.
- Team: open the Teams page, choose the amateur level and fill in the form with name, city, contact person, email, password and logo (required). Confirm your address with the link you receive by email.
- From team management you complete the profile (description, address, contacts) and add athletes by searching their name. You assign roles and approve join requests with one click.
- The president has a dashboard with member register, fees, medical certificates (we only store type and expiry, never the document), membership cards, sponsors and CSV export of the list.
- Members get a private area with board, chat, outings with attendance and car rides, polls, ranking and team goals, plus their own record with automatic expiry reminders.
- Group link and QR: type the name of your club, sports association or shop and get a sign-up link and a printable QR code. People who sign up from it are counted as your group.
4. Create a route
The Route Builder draws the route on the map and calculates distance, elevation and estimated time.
- Log in and open the Route Builder. Choose your sport, cycling or running; for cycling also choose the bike type (city, road, gravel, MTB).
- Click the map to add stops. The line can follow roads, be direct or free. You can undo, redo, clear, reverse or make an out-and-back.
- For a quick loop use “Generate automatic loop”: set the distance (1 to 300 km), the direction and, if you like, the elevation gain.
- Set your preferences: cycle paths, quiet roads, fewer climbs, e-bike.
- Check distance, elevation, profile, surface types and turn-by-turn directions. On the map you can show water points, nearby peaks and the roads most used by the community.
- Press “Save route”: name and expected average speed are required. Choose private, only for you, or public, visible to everyone. You can change your mind later.
- After saving, choose whether to create an event, open the route or share it on WhatsApp or with a link. From the route page you can also download the GPX file.
5. Create an event
An event is a group ride or outing with date, meeting point, participants and chat.
- Log in and open “Create a ride”, or press “Create Event” after saving a route.
- Choose the track: a saved route, a GPX file to import, or describe the ride in words with a name and distance, no map needed.
- Enter the expected average speed: the site calculates the finishing time.
- Write a name and description and choose the meeting point by searching a city or address, or by picking it on the map.
- Choose date and time. If available, you see the weather forecast. Set visibility and any repetition.
- Press “Create a ride”. At the last step invite people by searching their name or email: they get a notification and accept or decline.
Participants confirm with “Join” and can write in the ride chat, which is reserved for participants. All upcoming rides are in the events list, yours are under “My rides”.

- Android: Tap the three-dot menu at the top right.
- Android: Choose "Install app" or "Add to Home screen" and confirm.
- Android: Open Velunite from the Home screen icon, go to Notifications, tap "Turn on notifications" and answer "Allow".
On iPhone you need Safari with iOS 16.4 or later. If they do not arrive, check that phone notifications are on for Velunite and that battery saver is not blocking it.
