How group rides work on Velunite

Every ride has a meeting point, a route with elevation profile, a declared pace and a list of participants. The organizer sets level and time, riders confirm with one tap and find everything in the ride's dedicated chat.

To organize your own ride, read our guide on running a group ride without chaos: pace, shared route, a single chat and safety at the top of climbs.

Rides are open to every level, from beginners looking for company on their first outings to fast groups training for gran fondos. Each listing declares the expected average pace, distance and elevation gain, so anyone joining knows exactly what to expect. Filter by region, surface type (road, gravel, dirt) and sport: road cycling, MTB, gravel and running.

The ride chat is the virtual meeting point: coordinate parking, warn about delays, share live location during the outing. After the ride, photos, comments and kudos from your companions stay on the page. If you want to propose your own itinerary, first build the route with the map maker, then create the ride linking to it: others will see the profile, water points and difficulty before confirming.

Before heading out check the weather and the profile: every ride listing shows distance, elevation gain and average gradient, so you know if it suits your level. Always bring water, a spare tube, a pump and a charged phone: the ride chat lets others see where you are if something goes wrong. Rides are organized by members, but staying with the group and respecting the road rules is on each rider — ride predictably, hold your line and signal obstacles. After the ride you can import the GPX track onto your bike computer, review the segment times and share it with those who couldn't come.
