Five days, five time trials: how the race changes

The Giro delle Dolomiti is not a one-day gran fondo: it is five consecutive stages, and each day has a time-trial section. According to the official site, stage 1 includes a time trial to Halsjoch, stage 2 one from Gomagoi, stage 3 one to Passo Fedaia, stage 4 one from Pocol and stage 5 one from Siusi. The route crosses passes that amateur cyclists know well: Erbe and Würzjoch, the Stelvio, Fedaia with the Malga Ciapela ramp, Giau, Pordoi and Costalunga, up to the Alpe di Siusi. Over five days that is 540 km and 14,000 metres of climbing, so managing fatigue from one stage to the next matters as much as the legs on a single day. For 2027 the official page confirms the dates of the 50th anniversary; start times, categories and fees are not yet published, so treat this page as an overview of the race, not as its rules.
