Non-electric MTBs: what stood out at Eurobike 2026

At Eurobike 2026 eMTBs took most of the stage, but the halls also had unpowered mountain bikes that say a lot about the market. We take the seven picked by Bike Magazin, put them in order and draw a few useful hints for anyone thinking of a new bike. All data are claims by the brands as reported by the magazine; prices are indicative, in euros, as of 17 October 2026. We have not ridden any of these bikes.

Nukeproof Tracker FS: the enduro under 2,500 euros

This is the most concrete news because it is already available. Aluminium frame, mullet (a 29-inch front wheel and a smaller rear one), 165 mm of rear travel and a 170 mm fork, with geometry and kinematics inspired by the Mega. The claimed price is under 2,499 euros, achieved by dropping costly features such as internal cable routing, and there is a transferable lifetime warranty. In a market where a full-suspension enduro bike often costs over 4,000 euros, that is a signal: brands are going back to offering a serious bike at a moderate price.

True BC Knuth: a carbon high-pivot trail bike

A trail bike with 135 mm of rear travel, mullet wheels and a carbon frame handmade in Bavaria (about 2.7 kg for the frame alone, 12.1 kg for the complete bike according to the article headline), with a high-pivot system and an integrated dropper post. Frameset from 3,499 euros on pre-order. It is a niche bike, but it shows where the research is going: high-pivot, born in downhill, is reaching everyday bikes.

The XC bikes: Raymon Arid Ultra, Oggi Cross County, Canyon Lux Era

The Raymon Arid Ultra is a carbon XC hardtail with a 100 mm fork, Shimano XT Di2 and a Fox 32 Factory fork, at 4,599 euros for the top version; it arrives later. The Oggi Cross County is a carbon XC full-suspension bike with a 120 mm RockShox SID Ultimate fork and a compartment in the down tube. The Canyon Lux Era is a concept, still in testing, with 32-inch wheels, a double-decker cockpit, an upside-down fork, a display integrated in the head tube and an aero frame: it is not for sale and has no price, a way to see what Canyon thinks the XC bike of the future looks like.

Orange Clockwork and the Stabelead prototype

The Orange Clockwork is an aluminium trail hardtail with a 130 mm fork and 29-inch wheels, shown as a frame in classic paint, with no release details. Stabelead, finally, brought a downhill prototype made almost entirely of plastic, with an upside-down fork, a carbon shock and in-house brakes: not for sale, a technical demonstration.

How to use this information

If you are thinking about a new MTB, bear in mind that almost none of these bikes has an independent test or a firm delivery date yet. For now they are trend signals, not buying advice. A simple rule: with a budget under 2,500 euros, compare a new aluminium bike with a used one from a higher range, and always try the size. The right travel depends on your trails: little for XC and flowing singletrack, plenty for technical descents. And if you often ride alone, a group ride helps you try different bikes before spending.

What they say together

Three trends. Mullet wheels remain the fashionable choice for enduro and trail. Price is a feature again: a no-frills aluminium bike under 2,500 euros sounds different from the price lists of two years ago. The frame compartment, born in gravel, is arriving in MTB too. For buyers the advice is simple: first choose the discipline and the travel your trails need, then look at the price list; a 165 mm enduro bike on valley-floor trails is heavy to climb. If you are unsure which type of bike, start from how to choose between road, gravel and MTB, and if you wonder whether a motor would suit you, read our pieces on eMTB motors and e-bikes. For your MTB rides you can look up routes in Velunite's dedicated section and organise a ride with other enthusiasts.
